This is the best explanation of how to install osx and xp on Eee with only one usb. I don’t have a mac, but would like to run os x and xp on my Eee How can you create the bootable usb on xp. Maybe i have to use diferent image of mac. I used the the OSX 10.6 method and then i used EEEBOOT from to boot.Īnd i simple got stuck in the begining darwin boot then…. The istallation is Ok and the restart stuck ad the Apple Logo.
I have also the Asus Eee Pc 1005HA and the same problem. ANY insight/help you can offer will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks again for what you have written and in advance for any help you may offer.
I initially knew nothing about this and have faced a steep, sometimes frustratin, but fun learning curve. So, my real question is WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! I am DESPERATE to make this work! However, instead of continuing with the load it would stay on this screen, the DVD would stop spinning after maybe 30 seconds and then it would hang on the Apple screen forever (I let it go 20 minutes before giving up). This time it would boot and go straight to the Apple screen. So, then I downloaded 1.4 10.5.5 and tried the same USB DVD install.
I started off trying it with ideneb 1.3 booting off of a USB DVD (I am unable to use your method of USB boot as my real Mac is a PPC using 10.4.11) I tried that install method SEVERAL times before realizing there was an ACPI error that was preventing the install at all (it wouldn show the Apple screen for a split second then say I needed to restart the computer). Anyway, for the last two weeks I have been trying desperately to get this working. First of all I want to thank you for putting this together! I have recently (3 weeks ago) purchased the 1005HAB (should work the same as the HA) and have foind very little info specifically about our make/model for running os x. For my Asus eee pc 1005ha I had to use PC EFI v9, which worked fine. Note*: Some OSX86 users may encounter errors using OSX86 Tool.
I recommend getting at least a 16gig drive so you don’t run into capacity issues. OSX 10.6 method for bootable USB key install I’ll walk through the OSX method and the OSX86* method for you Hackintosh fiends. Instead I opted for a 16gig key drive that ended up costing around $30 and will definitely be put to use way more the a dvd drive.īelow are the instructions on how to get OSX on the key and have it bootable for installation. While working on a tight budget for this project I didn’t want to drop an extra $70 or so dollars for an external dvd drive. I recently purchased the Asus eee pc 1005HA and needed to install OSX (actually on this machine I chose the iDeneb method).
